There are many types of products you can buy in the Universe. Some are physical and some are digital. Some you can see and some you can’t. Some are services and some are products themselves. So lets delve deeper into what you can and can’t buy as a product.
Most physical products are either edible or non edible. Edible items are usually food stuffs. And you can purchase these from places like supermarkets and restaurants as well as wholesalers. The supermarket stuff normally comes under the category of FMCG, which stands for fast moving consumer goods.
Non edible items are usually purchased from places like Amazon, eBay and AliExpress. Things like electronics, baby goods, clothes, kitchen ware, the list goes on. Most of these items which are bought online and in retail outlets can be held in the hand or are worn. If it can be delivered, Amazon can sell it. That is why Amazon is worth billions.
On the other hand you’ve got services which act as products. Most companies sell services as a product. Subscription services like graze, too good to go and Hello fresh provide services where the service itself is a product. These usually rely on digital platforms like websites or apps to sell the products as a service so to speak. You simply choose the level of service you want and the company provides it for a fee.
Then you have other large items which amazon, supermarkets and small retail outlets can’t sell. This comes under the category of furniture, home appliances, cars, houses and expensive items such as this. Ikea and other furniture retailers usually cover these items. Autotrader covers cars and right move covers houses and apartments etc… Again these are just digital portals which allow you to exchange money for goods and service. And there you have it, those are the main products you’ll see in your every day lives.
